Art Brussels
Our presentation at Art Brussels 2025 is based on a preoccupation with an almost infinite number of possibilities in the face of new digital technologies and their effects, which branch out in countless directions. In this complex environment, the two, albeit very different, artistic positions of Salomé Chatriot and Pola Sieverding work along similar paths. The theme of touch and encounters between bodies, nature and machines and new hybrid gestures can be found in both works.
Through their works, both artists manage to illuminate traditional views of cultural structures or motifs from the perspective of the body, to capture moments and gestures and to make us think about the now in which we find ourselves.

Salomé Chariot’s artistic work focuses on the creation of physical and virtual spaces: she builds machines and installations where electronic sculptures and digital images coexist. Fascinated by the way science treats the body(s) through the objectivity of data, she uses potential futures and new technologies to shape a fluid, digital and precious identity. Her works find expressions in video works, wall sculptures or paintings on aluminium. At the fair we are presenting a selection of newly produced works that oscillate between techno-mythologies and speculative future scenarios.

The new series ‘Stigma’ by Pola Siverding continues the artists exploration, in a variety of media, of forms of attraction and the subjugation of desire which invariably shapes social interaction. In turning her often lens based eye towards isolated subjects, she realises a cinema of ontological interactions which captures the viewer in the dance of their own gaze, often through the staged exaggeration of psychologically charged objects of desire.

In her series touche-touche (2003), the gesture of touch takes centre stage. These are images of arms and hands touching, merging, intertvining and interweaving against a black background. This works focus on a place of touch – especially in view of digital technologies with, through and on which we perform our everyday gestures: thanks to our hands.
