Salomé Chatriot
In her second solo exhibition at the gallery, Salomé Chatriot explores how digital technologies are changing our understanding of the body and identity. At the centre of the exhibition is the five-channel video installation First Month of Anger, in which a transparent, headless figure shifts between torso, organ, crystal and machine. The boundaries between inside and outside, physical presence and digital representation begin to dissolve.
New paintings and the black leather wall sculpture Void is Seductive No. 2 translate these forms from the virtual into physical space. Working across CGI, painting, sculpture and biometric data, Chatriot creates works that combine technological precision with a sensuous, almost bodily presence.

About Salomé Chatriot
Salomé Chatriot’s (*1995) artistic work focuses on the creation of physical and virtual spaces: she builds machines and installations where electronic sculptures and digital images coexist. Fascinated by the way science treats the body(s) through the objectivity of data, she uses potential futures and new technologies to shape a fluid, digital and precious identity.
In disagreement with the techno-negative attitude, the ecosystems Chatriot produces always bear the mark of a certain healing. The well-being she wishes to convey often involves the real-time diffusion of organic flows such as breathing, fluid circulation and [al]chemical transformations.
In her artistic creations, the process is as important as the result: experimenting in the manner of a scientist; with rigor and precision. A scientist capable of merging the body, the machine and nature to give shape to hybrid entities drawing the contours of a future era of art where material and virtual creations cohabit and exchange harmoniously.
Salomé Chatriot’s work has been shown at institutions including MARTa Herford, Kunsthalle Bielefeld, Palais de Tokyo, Collection Lambert, Centre d’Art Contemporain Genève, FRAC Champagne-Ardenne and The Shed, New York. Her performances have been presented at the Bass Museum of Art, Miami, CALM – La Meute, Lausanne, Lafayette Anticipations and Palais de Chaillot, Paris, Art Basel, Basel, Grey Area, San Francisco, and the Mercedes-Benz Art Collection, Munich.
