About the Artist
Jeff Davis is an artist, Strategic Advisor at Art Blocks, and co-founder of the Generative Art Foundation.
He began his artistic journey in college, focusing on painting and printmaking during his graduate studies at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
In 1999, Jeff turned to design software to explore structure and color with greater precision, marking the beginning of his digital art practice. Since then, he has adopted creative coding as a tool for expression, developing generative systems that investigate form and color within specified parameters.
Jeff has exhibited internationally in solo and group exhibitions, including presentations at ZKM | Center for Art and Media Karlsruhe, the São Paulo Biennial, Art Dubai, Sotheby’s New York, Phillips London, and with Bright Moments in Paris, Tokyo, London, Berlin, New York, Los Angeles, Buenos Aires, and Mexico City. In 2025, Artverse Gallery in Paris presented Color: 1995–2025, a retrospective tracing three decades of his artistic practice. Recent projects include collaborations with DRIFT and Ateliers Loire, exploring the translation of generative systems into physical form. Davis is also the author of the textbooks Foundations of Design and Foundations of Color.
