Enter Art Fair 2021
From August 26 - 29, 2021, the Enter Art Fair will take place in Copenhagen and online. We will be there at BOOTH 37 and show new works by Benjamin Bernt, Johanna Dumet and Jorinde Fischer.
About the artists:
Benjamin Bernt (*1982) lives and works in Berlin. Since studying at the Academy of Fine Arts in Karlsruhe, he has basically dealt with the human figure and the fictional portrait. Looking at his drawings and paintings, a play begins between foreground and background, and between color and shapes. Silhouettes of heads or figures can be seen in a line that contrast with those of color fields. References from art history and literature, but also his own everyday absurdities and psychological states are an integral part of his artistic process.
Johanna Dumet (*1991) paints with oil on canvas; she uses other techniques such as paper painted with gouache glued on canvas. She is known to paint spontaneously, fluidly, and without constraint, the result of which is an elevated, seductive use of colour and abstract form that constantly plays with figuration. She is unconcerned about detail, rather for a minimalistic depiction of what she sees, yet enough to understand what the subject is with no at- tempt to correct forms over colours.
In Jorinde Fischer’s (*1990) artistic work, textiles and industrial products provide the starting point for something that could be referred to as drapery, if it weren’t so manifestly removed from shape, from décor. It presents itself in synthetically intrinsic coloration; steel serves, visibly or invisibly, as suspension or weight, on floors, walls. The results oscillate wildly, we want to detect an essence in these Hangings, Ruptures, Creases, and yet we cannot; too minimal the formative intervention, too rigorous and clear its conception.
